Municipality of Novaci covers an area of 753 km2 in the southern part of Macedonia and is situated at an altitude of 580 meters. The municipality is the fifth municipality in a row in the country according to the size of arable land – with 22.905 hectares of arable land, there are 28.952 hectares of pasture and 17.000 hectares of forests.

The climate in the municipality is moderate continental, with certain specifics – according to the temperature values the climate is continental, and according to the rainfalls to some extent is Mediterranean. In the Mariovo region the climate is mountainous, and along the Crna Reka the impact of the Mediterranean climate is felt. The municipality has 41 villages, 34 of which are flat and 7 are mountainous. The municipal center Novaci is 11 km away from the nearest town Bitola. Through the municipality Crna Reka, Gradeshka River, Bela Reka, Eleshka river Konjarka, Satoka and other rivers pass. Its territory includes one reservoir of REK Bitola and the mineral springs Germijan and Medzitlija.

Farming is an important industry in the municipality. Grains that are present include: wheat, barley, rye, corn. The inhabitants of the Municipality cultivates vegetables and forage crops: poppy, hops, soybeans, chickpeas, alfalfa, sugar beet, sunflower, rapeseed and other crops. The livestock is represented in the form of breeding cattle and flocks of 30,000 hectares of pastures. Macedonia is known by Mariovo bee and the honey of high quality. The fishing is common on the rivers Black (Crna), Gradeshka, White (Bela).

The fruit growing is represented by apple fruits: apple, pear, quince, cherry, grain, walnut, hazelnut, chestnut, almond, and forest fruits: strawberries and tiny berries. In the municipality Novaci is located the largest pool of carbon – Suvodol with geological reserves of 195 million tons.
